Frostpunk Update 1.1.0 Live With New Survival Mode, Game Discounted 15%
Show us just how capable you are as the ruler of the last on Earth.
Frostpunk debuted about a month ago, earning a spot as one of the best games we've reviewed so far this year. It was one of my personal most anticipated games, so I'm quite relieved, but there's also more on the way. Today, 11 Bit Studios revealed a new mode that will test your ability to survive. Survivor mode takes things a step beyond Hard mode and rewards players with new achievements if they, somehow, finish the game.
Survivor ups the ante by removing any active pause option, so the game only halts when a menu is opened, and your game is only saved upon exit. Thus, every single decision made is final. On top of additional difficulty with managing the community's needs with your city's economy, Survivor mode sounds like quite the test.
As inspiration for those that have yet to give Frostpunk's unique brand of city sim and survival a try, 11 Bit Studios has dropped the price by 15% temporarily. Act quickly and purchase the game on either Steam, GOG, or Humble. Check out the update details in the video above, check out the full Frostpunk 1.1.0 patch notes on the official website, and stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.

Yeah just checked Wikipedia, it had sold quarter of a million copies in three days. Don't know how good it has been since then but I'd bet that number was projected in terms of months not days, before release.
It was very fun, I'm interested to try the endless play mode they're adding in. Should give a bit more creative freedom than the scenarios.
