E3 2018: The Quiet Man, Babylon's Fall, and All Trailers and Reveals from Square Enix's Briefing

Here's the roundup of everything offered up during Square Enix's E3 2018 briefing.

As the formal kickoff of E3 2018 looms ever closer, studios are continuing to drop big reveals in their pre-E3 press conferences. Unlike the competition, Square Enix chose to keep their briefing short and sweet, showing off a few trailers for games we've seen before plus the reveal of an all-new title in Babylon's Fall.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Square Enix kicked off its E3 2018 press conference with a look at the beginning of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, out later this year from developer Eidos Montreal, as well as an in-depth preview of gameplay tools at Lara's disposal. Stealth kills took center stage as Lara crept through a lush jungle environment, picking off mercenaries one by one. Other snippets highlighted grappling, wall running, and full-360-degree underwater exploration.

Final Fantasy XIV X Monster Hunter: World

Final Fantasy XIV Online will soon play host to a special Monster Hunter: World crossover event. The team's provided teaser trailer was short and to-the-point, showing a blend of characters from both games coming under siege from a massive dragon, then responding in a remarkably jubilant manner.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

It's clear that The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is artistically and thematically influenced by Life Is Strange, but we know have even more details on the relationship between the two games.

The Quiet Man

The Quiet Man opens with some excellent-looking footage that nearly looked real, as it showed off a protagonist who appears to motion that he can't hear before unleashing a can of whoop-ass on some unsuspecting thugs.

Just Cause 4

While we all found out about the E3 Just Cause 4 reveal a little earlier than expected thanks to Steam, today we got a few more details about what fan of the series can expect from the next iteration in the series. During today's Square-Enix press conference the company dropped a ton of information on the new story, environment, and gameplay mechanics that will be integrated into Just Cause 4.

Babylon's Fall

The Square Enix E3 2018 press conference has revealed Babylon’s Fall, a new game from PlatinumGames. The new IP will be heading to the PS4 and Steam, with no other information on its availability on other platforms. Babylon’s Fall will release in 2019.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age: Edition of Light

Dragon Quest fans in North America haven’t had lots to be excited about over the last decade, but all that changes this fall when Square Enix brings Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age: Edition of Light to PC and PS4 September 4. Those who have played the Japanese version of the game last year will find that this new version is more than a simple port, bringing new features and UI enhancements.

Square Enix had a strong E3 briefing, most notably because the studio jumped straight to the point and didn't waste any time with extended gags or unexpected rock concerts. Not all of the briefings will be this succinct, so be sure to keep it tuned to Shacknews for all the latest and hottest reveals from E3 2018.
