Insomniac Teases New VR Game, Full Reveal of Studio's 'Evolution' Coming Next Week
The established developer's next major project is an Oculus Rift exclusive that will break boundaries.
"We're always challenging ourselves to try something that we've never done before," an Insomniac Games developer states in the new dev spotlight released today. Not much is known for now, but Insomniac Games teased a new virtual reality title in a developer spotlight chronicling the team's recent history.
While it seems like the new title will challenge the team with new ideas, some of the game will be influenced by the games in the team's recent history. The game is going to be on the Oculus Rift and a reveal will happen next week, June 7, 2018, but there are some additional things that can be discerned from the video below.
Throughout the spotlight, various members of the Insomniac Games team reflect on the innovation and experiences achieved in games like the modern remake of Ratchet & Clank, Sunset Overdrive, Edge of Nowhere, and The Unspoken. If one were to draw conclusions as to what this next game will offer beyond what was explicitly said about it, here's a bullet point of focuses from the games discussed prior to the tease in the Insomniac Games developer spotlight:
