Microsoft Builds Real Life Apocalypse Bunker For State of Decay 2
Where will you be when the zombie apocalypse happens? Hopefully inside this bunker.
Looking forward to State of Decay 2's debut on Xbox One and Windows 10? You're nowhere near as excited as Microsoft, obviously, who has put together what they're calling the "world's first" Xbox Gaming Bunker. It's all in a bid to promote the new zombie apocalypse simulator, and it honestly looks pretty awesome.
The authentic World War II-era Quonset bunker is about seven miles east of downtown LA, where everything else in the world happens unfortunately for us East Coast folks, and it's 4,000 square feet of zombie-fueled dystopia. The Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs will be hanging out at the bunker during an episode of Xbox Live Sessions this evening at 7 PM ET on the Mixer Xbox Channel, showing off the game and the venue itself.
The bunker is home to a 25-ton blast door, melee weapons, in-game items made for the real world, and other various resources, including Meals Ready to Eat (MREs), like the lovely Steve1989 on YouTube reviews. He's awesome, by the way.
There's also a greenhouse, makeshift furniture, and other cool stuff to check out if you head over to the bunker, which is open from Wednesday, May 16 through Sunday, May 20. To visit, you'll need to pre-register online. Make sure you nab a space fast, though, because it'll fill up fast.
