Larian Studios' Divinity: Original Sin 2 ran away with our Best RPG and Best PC Game awards last year and console gamers learned in April that they'd be able to try out the dense, turn-based RPG sometime this year. Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition is releasing on Xbox One and PS4 in August, but Xbox players will get to try it out a bit earlier. Bandai Namco will be handling the publishing duties for the Xbox One version and the game will be headed to the Xbox game preview service on May 16, 2018.

Any players that are a part of the preview program will get instant access to the first three hours of Divinity: Original Sin 2, which is more than enough time to get into to high-fantasy hijinks.

"We've done a lot work since launch to make DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2 even better, and Xbox Game Preview will let us discover how we can improve it even further," says Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke in the press release for the announcement. "Our hope is that with the feedback we'll collect, D:OS 2  - Definitive Edition will become one of the best RPG experiences available across the platforms. The changes and additions in the Definitive Edition are about 45 pages long, and all owners of Divinity: Original Sin will also benefit from these."

The entire first act of Divinity: Original Sin 2, which comes to about 20 hours of gameplay, is available via pre-order and the save files will work with the retail launch version. Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition arrives on PS4 and Xbox One in August 2018. Stay tuned to Shacknews for further updates.
