Batman: The Enemy Within's Final Episode, Telltale's Most Ambitious Undertaking, Is Available Now
Episode five, called Same Stitch, tells two very different tales when it comes to John Doe.
If you’ve been playing the episodes of Telltale Games' Batman: The Enemy Within up until this point, you’re likely very eager to see what becomes of the Joker, the legendary Bat-villain. Your choices matter in Telltale’s modern brand of games and the final episode of Enemy Within, which is available as of today, March 27, shows you just what kind of monster you’ve created.
The final episode is called Same Stitch and it features three and a half hours of content spread across two unique storylines. Via the press release, Telltale says the two paths only feature, at most, three overlapping scenes. This is a departure from the usual formula for the dev’s episode games, which typically feature scatterings of unique details spread across a largely similar story.
"Without exaggeration, Same Stitch is the most ambitious piece of content Telltale has ever produced," says Season Lead Writer James Windeler. "We had to adjust our usual development process to accommodate the added scope, but it was super important to us to honor players' choices, whether they chose to befriend John or not. We had to deliver on the season's central promise of allowing players to craft their own Joker."
New trailers released by Telltale give players a glimpse into both potential main paths: The Villain and the Vigilante. The classic Joker charm is evident in the Villain arch, but the Vigilante journey is intriguing. It looks like the decision to bring him on has soured your relationships with others, noticeably Catwoman in the trailer, and will likely result in one of the most interesting takes on the Batman mythos.
Batman: The Enemy Within’s final episode, Same Stitch, is available today on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and mobile.
