Far Cry 5: Exclusive Interview With Creative Director
Get the inside scoop on how the shooter series ended up in the good old USA and what to expect from Ubisoft’s next big launch.
With less than two weeks until Ubisoft’s open-world shooter Far Cry 5 is unleashed into the world, Shacknews got the chance to sit down with the series’ Creative Director Dan Hay and talk about everything that goes into the fictional world of Hope County, Montana.
In the interview, Hay explains why Montana was chosen as the backdrop for the game and how the developers had ambitions for bringing the popular series into a setting within the United States. Also talked about are the motivations for Joseph Seed, the enigmatic cult leader at the center of the chaos. Longtime players of Ubisoft games will be delighted to hear Hay talk about the self-awareness of the development team and how it relates to the overall design of the game.
Far Cry 5 officially launches on March 27 for consoles and PC. You can get our in-depth thoughts on the game from when Shacknews editor Blake Morse got some one on one time with it at a preview event last month. Those interested in preordering the game can do so for the following platforms: PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
