Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Sells Half A Million Units
Developer Fatshark has revealed that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has sold over 500,000 copies in less than one week.
One of the biggest releases in the PC gaming scene right now is independent developer Fatshark's blood-fueled adventure Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Not only has the game seen new updates and a swell of interested players starting with its previous beta tests, the game has also managed to draw in considerable interest post-launch, with Fatshark revealing that Vermintide 2 has managed to sell over 500,000 units within four days of its official PC release.
Speaking in a press release, Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund referred to the game's success as a milestone the team hadn't yet anticipated reaching, and expressed pride with regard to player's reactions to the title so far.
“We are proud and happy that gamers worldwide have taken Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to their hearts," Wahlund said. “500,000 games sold was a milestone that we had, but not less than a week after release.”
The number of Vermintide 2 copies sold so far is impressive on its own, but it's even more impressive consiodering that Fatshark hasn't yet released the home console versions of its latest title. Though we haven't gotten word of any specific release dates yet, the team is hoping to get console beta versions of Vermintide 2 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players sometime this spring.
