Xbox Live Down With Users Receiving Error Code 0x87dd0006

No Xbox Live for you tonight, at least for a while.

Xbox Live has hit a snag this evening with users around the globe receiving the error code 0x87dd0006 upon trying to sign-in to Microsoft’s online service. The Xbox Support Twitter has been quick to jump on the outage, reassuring users that the “right teams” are currently investigating the issues.

The error appears to be on Microsoft’s end, so there’s no need to go and reset your router or unplug cables – we’re just going to have to wait. According to the Xbox Live Status page, the 0x87dd0006 error is affecting all services across the board, with Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox on Windows 10, and other Xbox devices unable to connect.

The Xbox Live Core services are non-functional, along with purchases and content usage (the Xbox Store), as well as social and gaming. While it’s never a good time to have your services go down, this is rather unfortunate timing for Xbox Live given that the March Games with Gold has only just arrived.

Hopefully whatever has caused this issue doesn’t resurface later this month when Sea of Thieves releases else we’ll have a lot of unhappy pirates on our hands.

This is the major downside to not having the Xbox you actually use be your primary system. I can’t play Crackdown!

Ugh, this. I let a friend use his xbox as my primary system so I can share my Library with him. Now Im kicking myself.

Interesting. Were you already signed into the non-Home Xbox when Live went down? I'll have to look into that tomorrow.

Just go to [ offline mode ] , sure you can't play MP games that need a server like COD, BF1, Destiny 2 etc but you can still play all of your other games in offline mode.

I know this site is a anti MS web site and most enjoy to hate on them but I will post on how to play all your SP games in offline mode:

      1. You need to at least once be in real online mode with your main account
      2. Go to your security settings and make sure in the first tier you tick off save password of your account(so it doe snot prompt you every time) leave purchasing games to force your password(never leave this auto login).
      3. Now go into settings and pick Network settings
      4. Select Offline mode
      5. You can unplug your LAN now
      6. Just select your normal account and it will log you in.
      7. Now you can play Diablo 3, Crackdown or what ever in offline mode with no internet.

If you turn off your Xbox One and turn it back on with not LAN plugged in you simply select your account and it will auto log you in with out asking for your password and you can play any game you want in offline mode unless that games is MP and uses a server.
