PUBG Is Getting A Third Map In First Half of 2018
A new map is in the content plans and we'll learn more in March.
The latest community update on the PUBG steam page focused on changes coming to player matchmaking, but some additional teases were thrown into the mix. Chief of those tidbits is the fact that a new map is planned for the first half of 2018 and details will be shared in the upcoming 2018 roadmap.
So far this year, the development team has been focused on optimization, bug fixes, and limiting opportunities to cheat in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. For these reasons, they've not had a chance to release the roadmap for the rest of the year just yet. They're planning to do so in March and the new map will be a part of the "development and new content plans" for the first half of 2018. Does that mean that's it's definitely coming? No. Anything can happen in these coming months, but it's good to know that something is in the works.
No matter what map you end up playing on, you'll need to know how to stay alive in PUBG. We'll be sure to update our guide with additional details if the new map provides some unique situations for it.

I think I’m the only person in PUBG who likes Miramar. The changes in terrain elevation make it much more interesting than the flat forests with no undergrowth in Erangel. It’s not perfect but it lets you make more strategic plays around crossroads or cover than “run to the part of the circle that looks like all the other parts”.
