New Overwatch Year of the Dog Skins
Several heroes get Lunar New Year themed skins in Overwatch’s newest event.
In celebration of Chinese New Year, Overwatch will be hosting a Year of the Dog event starting Feb 8, and ending March 5. This will be the second time Blizzard’s team shooter has seen an event based around the Lunar new year.
As with all Overwatch events, Year of the Dog will bring about modified game modes, maps, player icons, and other festive changes. Most importantly, Blizzard has revealed the full list of brand new skins that will be available for the duration of the event. Widowmaker, Phara, Genji, McCree, Mercy, Zarya, Junkrat, D Va, Roadhog, Symmetra, Ana, Bastion, Mei, Zenyatta, Tracer, Winston, and Reinhardt will all be getting into the spirit of Chinese new year with some holiday themed skins. In addition, all of the skins from 2017’s Year of the Rooster event will be available in loot boxes. You can get an in depth look at all of the new skins and highlight intros here.
With over half of the games roster getting new skins, there’s a lot to unpack in Overwatch’s newest event. That being said, all of these skins can be purchased using in game currency, as well as being found in loot boxes. Their prices vary, with the legendary skins for Widowmaker, Phara, Zarya, and Genji selling for 3,000 credits.
