Kratos is coming home to claim his rightful throne as one of the baddest dudes on PlaySttion 4 this April with the release of God of War, but that’s so far away. What can you do to tide yourself over until the new entry in the long-running series finally arrives? Why, you can watch a new trailer, of course!
The God of War story trailer that just released follows Kratos’s son Atreus, and his childhood after the passing of his mother. Kratos and Atreus work in tandem, venturing through the Norse wilds, to deliver Atreus’s mother’s ashes to their final resting place. Unfortunately, it looks like Kratos hasn’t quite shared the fact that he, himself, is a god with little Atreus, something it looks like the pair will struggle with as the game wears on, especially when it comes to the godlike potential locked within Atreus.
This is a side of Kratos we’ve never seen before, a much more tender depiction of the callous warrior, as he interacts with Atreus in ways we would never have expected. It looks like an exciting chapter for the God of War series, honestly, and if you’re interested in giving it a try, there’s not too long to wait.
God of War launches April 20 on PlayStation 4.
