Mad Catz Rises From the Grave to Attend CES 2018

Mad Catz has returned and the zombie peripheral maker will make its first appearance in Las Vegas next week.

Mad Catz had a long shelf life as a manufacturer of third-party hardware, peripherals, and arcade sticks. Then came a bad year in which the company severely overestimated the need for Rock Band peripherals, which ultimately led to the company's bankruptcy and closure.

But out of the blue, it appears that Mad Catz has risen from the grave.

The LittleBigPR YouTube account teased an announcement two weeks ago dated for today. That announcement is apparently the return of Mad Catz. But just who's running them?

According to Eurogamer, a new firm of Asian investors who formerly worked in Mad Catz manufacturing and development are the company's new owners. Furthermore, the company is ready to get off the ground right now. New Mad Catz peripherals will be on display at next week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which include new peripherals for PC users.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
