As long as Nintendo is introducing Bayonetta to Switch audiences, The Game Awards felt like a good time to keep her party going.

Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime took the Game Awards stage to announce that Bayonetta 3 is in development. Platinum Games will return for Bayonetta's third adventure and it will be coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch. No word on how soon it's set to come out, nor was there an estimated window given. While 2018 may be a bit optimistic, at the very least, there is a Bayonetta 3 indeed in the works. This is a positive sign for the franchise, which saw its second chapter receive critical acclaim (including from Shacknews), but also saw its sales wane largely because of the Wii U's limited install base.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
