Defending Street Fighter 5 Champion NuckleDu Will Miss Capcom Cup
The Capcom Cup has undergone a major shakeup, with defending champion Du 'NuckleDu' Dang announcing he would miss the event.
This year's Capcom Cup is set to take place in less than two weeks, but the culmination of the competitive Street Fighter V season may have undergone a seismic shift. The tournament will likely carry on without defending Capcom Cup champion Du "NuckleDu" Dang.
I most likely won't be attending Capcom Cup 2017. Talked to Capcom, and they support my decision completely. Waiting to hear back from Team Liquid. I appreciate everyones support throughout the year. Thank you!

Dang did not give a specific reason for his upcoming absence, but the heavy implication is that he is taking time off due to personal reasons. His sponsor, Team Liquid, has expressed its support on Twitter.
Dang had finished the Capcom Pro Tour global leaderboard in third place. He was only behind Victor "Punk" Woodley and Hajime "Tokido" Taniguchi, the Evo runner-up and winner.
The Capcom Cup bracket has not been revealed and is expected to be finalized in the next week.
