Zynga Spells Out Sequel In Words With Friends 2
The new sequel to the hit word game presents new gameplay modes including the fresh multiplayer team-based Lightning Round mode.
To the right mind, everything is a game, including a zesty appetite for and gradual mastery of the English language. For folks like that — you know who you are — mobile game developer Zynga has produced a sequel to the company's breakout mobile hit Words With Friends. Simply titled Words With Friends 2, the company's latest mobile word game presents players with a number of different gameplay modes thanks to the addition of Solo Challenges against AI components as well as the new Lightning Round mode, which pits teams of five players against one another in a fast-paced word-based competition.
Zynga says that many of the game's features were inspired by player-submitted feedback, including a variety of new Boost power-ups as well as the all-new Social Dictionary, which adds over 5,000 player-submitted words in addition to over 50,000 words overall. Even better, fans will be able to track their progress within the Social Dictionary with a variety of in-game statistics that reflect their lingual prowess when compared to friends and opponents around the world.
According to Bernard Kim, president of publishing at Zynga, Words With Friends 2 continues the legacy of connecting millions of players around the world through a mutual love of word-based gameplay.
"Words With Friends 2 honors the rich, pop-culture legacy and beloved social gameplay of Words With Friends, while introducing innovative features in the largest refresh in the game’s eight-year history," Kim said. "We’re proud to bring our loyal fans a brand-new experience that’s inspired by all the ways they want to play."
There won't be any waiting needed before players can check out Zynga's sequel to their popular mobile word game, as Words With Friends 2 is currently available for download as a free-to-play game on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
