Hitman: GOTY Edition Sets Sights on 'Patient Zero' in November
IO Interactive isn't finished with Agent 47's latest outing just yet.
Just because IO Interactive has gone independent doesn't mean its finished with the Hitman franchise just yet. It's not even finished with the Hitman game that's currently out. On Tuesday, the Hitman developer announced that it would be releasing a Game of the Year Edition for the current Hitman. And with this GOTY Edition comes new content.
The Hitman: Game of the Year Edition will feature the entire first season, along with an all-new bonus campaign called Patient Zero. This is a new series of four missions that sees Agent 47 tasked with taking out an infected target before he can create a global pandemic. While Agent 47 will venture across familiar locations, the various elements (including character AI, challenges, and disguises) have all been readjusted.
With that said, look for all-new disguises and Escalation Contracts to pop up. The IO Interactive website has more details on these new additions.
Hitman: Game of the Year Edition is set to release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on November 7. Existing Hitman owners that want this new stuff will have to plunk down another $20 for the GOTY Upgrade. Those that opt not to upgrade will still get a free update that offers up a redesigned UI, Contracts Mode, lighting improvements, Xbox One X enhancements, and more.

So If I've payed $15 for the initial episode, plus $10 each for all the additional episodes, and now I want to play this new "episode" I have to pay $20? How does that make sense? The additional costumes and graphic tweaks don't seem worth it, plus the new episode is just re-tooling existing levels. This should be a bonus for us early supporters.
