New PS4 Pro Patch Boosts Witcher 3: Wild Hunt To 4K
The critically acclaimed RPG gets a visual facelift on the more powerful PS4.
CD Projekt Red started work on a PS4 Pro for their critically acclaimed Witcher 3: Wild Hunt back in July and, while the task took them a great deal longer than they expected, it has finally arrived. The PS4 Pro update takes advantage of the premium console's additional power to lift Witcher 3 to new visual heights and provide a performance boost.
"Yes, the game has just received an upgrade patch, enabling it to take advantage of the additional power offered by the PS4 Pro," CD Projekt Red told Eurogamer. "When playing the game on a PS4 Pro system, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and all its additional content feature support for 4K resolution and a slight boost to performance."
The report also included an update that Digital Foundry's testing of the patch showered checkerboard rendering at 1920x2160 resolution and a boost to 1080p performance.
