2K Announces WWE 2K18 For PC
Enter the squared circle day and date with console players for the first time ever, brother!
Licensed wrestling games on the PC have been an afterthought for years. Ignored throughout most of the 2000s, Visual Concepts finally released a PC port of its WWE 2K15 on Steam eight months after it debuted on consoles. WWE 2K16 and 2K17 followed this trend of releasing the year after the console launches. Finally in 2017, the wrestling series will hit PC on the same date as its console brothers (and the Switch, too!). On October 17, you can hit the mat with WWE’s biggest superstars in glorious 4K and if you aren’t down with that, I got two words for ya.
WWE 2K18 marks the first time that the series will not appear on the last generation consoles (PS3/360). With all that extra work off the table, the team at Yukes/2K saw fit to get the game up and running on the Nintendo Switch, which was announced back in July.
PC wrestling fans had been asking 2K if the new game would arrive on PC, but no mention of the port had ever been made until today. WWE 2K15 was used to facilitate a Shacknews Wrestling Extravaganza that was featured during the site’s 2015 Extra Life streams. With a timely release for WWE 2K18, maybe a return to the ring will be in store for the Shacknews community?
