Minecraft New Nintendo 3DS Edition Assembles Today

The 3DS finally has a version of Minecraft to call its own.

There are very few platforms that don't wield Minecraft these days. Wednesday's Nintnedo Direct continued with a look at one of the last holdouts, which is a holdout no more. The New Nintendo 3DS will now carry an edition of Mojang's world builder, called Minecraft New Nintendo 3DS Edition.

The New Nintendo 3DS' various features will be used for the game's interface, which includes using the touch screen for accessing the user's inventory.

The digital version of Minecraft New Nintendo 3DS Edition is out today after the Nintendo Direct. The retail version is coming soon.

      OK

      a) I admire the effort but I have to think the target audience for this moved on to tablet versions ages ago, or the Switch version.

      b) Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition is a really awkward name. Like Caffeine Free Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper

      c) Is this going to be a version that gets the Better Together update? Because that could be pretty cool, but if it's going to be its own thing forever like the Xbox 360 and Wii U versions I'll pass (not that I own a New 3DS anyway)
