CAA Signs First VR Director To Their Talent Agency
Virtual reality has finally and officially gotten a seat at the table.
Born in 1975, the Creative Artists Agency or CCA is a talent and sports agency based in California and is recognized as one of the dominant agencies around. With new initiatives in entertainment, some won’t accept you until you’re in the door with prestigious entities and virtual reality has taken another story mass awareness by earning a spot at the table with this agency. For the first time, the CCA has added a director that exclusively creates in virtual reality to its roster.
Reported by Deadline, Kevin Cornish has been added to the CAA roster after creating quite the portfolio for himself with immersive work for IBM, Oculus, Google, AMD, and more. Cornish had one of his projects, the room-scale experience Remember: Remember, premier at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival and he’s even created a multiplayer social experience through his Moth + Flame imprint.
His company Moth + Flame, a VR agency, will also be represented by the CAA. The agency is responsible for content for Taylor Swift and also created a VR experience for MTV’s Teen Wolf television series.
For those with their fingers on the pulse of virtual reality, this is exciting news. As more start to take VR seriously, more moves like this will be made across the many industries immersive tech impacts. The democratization of VR is on the horizon as well.
