Be a Smooth Operator for the Rainbow 6 Siege Free Weekend
Ubisoft’s shooter goes free for the weekend ahead of delayed Blood Orchid update.
Shooting people - it is American as apple pie or baseball and you can do it for free this weekend with Rainbow SIx: Siege. Ubisoft’s team-based shooter hit has been a consistent favorite for gamers since it released in late 2015. Due to this popularity, Ubisoft announced that Siege would receive a second year of content updates.
The latest of those updates, dubbed Blood Orchid, brings a new map and collection of operators. The theme park-styled map and three new operators are parts of a massive patch that will lay the groundwork for future content. As an added bonus, the patch will decrease load times and add Ultra HD textures for the PC version.
While the Blood Orchid update was originally scheduled to release on August 29, the patch has been pushed back week to September 5 so it may receive an extra layer of polish. Ubisoft hopes to have a version of the update on the public test server by August 29, though.
The free weekend trial for Raiinbow Six Siege is scheduled as follows:
- PC: 1pm EST 24th August - 4pm EST 28th August
- PS4: 10am EST 24th August - 10am EST 28th August
- Xbox One: 3am EST 24th August - 3am EST 28th August

I urge any Shacker who is mildly interested in tactical FPS games to try this out if you haven't. The game is so fucking good. EVERY match is different. With the destructible walls the tactical options are pretty awesome. The shooting and movement feels great and the unique abilities on each operator are fun and well thought out.
It's a true evolution of Counter Strike imo. Also, I get the same tenseness and rush that I felt at the height of Quake 3 TDM.
3 new operators and a map are coming out in about 2 weeks. Everything can be unlocked with ingame cash but you can speed up the process by buying a season pass. It's a very fair offer.
It's my #1 game released in the last 5 years.-

I feel the regular edition is a must if you value your time. The cost of the operators are significantly higher in the starter edition to raise the grind and incentivise paying real money for ingame cash so you can unlock operators faster.
The grind to unlock operators is much less severe with the reg edition and you can essentially unlock 3 operators right after doing the tutorial missions. Plus you get some R6 bucks(real game currency) to spend with the regular edition which can net you some nice cosmetics or booster packs to make the grind even faster.
