Since inception, nDreams has created games across a wide spectrum of genres for VR and this time they’re using the unique perspective of the VR user to add some excitement to classic brawlers when their new game Bloody Zombies launches on September 14th. It will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and the major tethered VR headsets and players can team up in mixes of VR and non-VR.

Bloody Zombies has players controlling one of four characters in a side-scrolling brawler. VR users can move around to get a better look at the environment in a tabletop like perspective and this view allows them to spot hidden loot or even look further up the path to get a tactical advantage. Not every player has to be using a VR headset, though, as the game can be played in standard non-VR as well. VR and non-VR users can cross-play with each other with up to four players in any combination online but only one VR player in local co-op.

“We’re massive fans of brawler games and have spent countless hours analyzing the genre, crafting Bloody Zombies into a modern interpretation of the classics,” says Paw Print Games’ Director Anthony White in the press release for the news. “VR adds a new twist to what is already a great TV experience; enhancing the gameplay and visuals and adding a wow factor. We can’t wait for people to get their hands on Bloody Zombies.”

Bloody Zombies will be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and can be played with PS VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive as well. The game launches at $14.99 and any that pre-order will get a 10% discount. The virtual reality industry is young and full of many opportunities for developers to begin carving out their legacy. nDreams is one such developer that even provided a moody adventure title for PS VR called The Assembly so, hopefully, Bloody Zombies will further their legacy.
