Shack's Arcade Corner: Night Slashers

Greg Burke tells us why Night Slashers was deeper than your average beat-em-up.

This week, Shack’s Arcade Corner takes a look at the overlooked Data East brawler, Night Slashers. Released to arcades in 1993, the game allows one or two players to jump into the shoes of three different heroes, then punch and kick their way through a violent hellscape that includes appearances from creatures such as zombies and Frankenstein’s monster. Though Data East titles were subsequently ported to a variety of home consoles and later included in various compilations, Night Slashers regrettably remains exclusive to arcade cabinets.
