Ghost Recon: Wildlands To Add Ghost War 4v4 PvP Mode
The new mode will be coming as a free update sometime this fall, but not before an open beta test.
The Santa Blanca Cartel in Bolivia has fallen, and now players will be tasked with keeping Special Ops forces from getting a new foothold in the country in a new PvP mode for Ghost Recon: Wildlands called Ghost War. The 4v4 action will be available as a free update sometime this fall.
“Our objective with Ghost War was to build upon the main game’s elements of co-op teamplay and open, tactical gameplay,” Lead Game Designer Lucian Istrate said on the official UbiBlog. A new suppression system will affect vision if you are under heavy fire, and new sound markers are being added to help players better locate enemies. "All of these elements will make team play, communication, and strategic skills more crucial than ever,” Istrate said.
Ubisoft invited members of the community in for a sneak peak at the new mode in a series of workshops at the Paris studio. The select 12 were able to give initial feedback on what they liked and didn't like, with the dev team hopefully taking diligent notes.
While the mode isn't coming until fall, a beta will be scheduled later this summer. Those who want to participate will be able to register at the official Ghost Recon site when the team begins accepting signups. The beta will be coming on all platforms.
