Following an exciting Tekken 7 grand finals between Echo Fox's Choi "Saint" Jinwoo and Kim "JDCR" HyunJin, it was time for another announcement at Evo 2017. That announcement did not involve Tekken, but rather another of Bandai Namco's fighters, Dragon Ball FighterZ.

The newest trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ showed off the first footage of Trunks, the fighter from the future. Future Trunks' mixups were fast and furious, unfolding in true Dragon Ball Z fashion.

Those looking to try out Dragon Ball FighterZ won't have to wait much longer. A new closed beta is set to begin on July 26, with nine fighters available. Look for more information on this beta in the coming weeks.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in early 2018.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
