Sonic Mania Coming August 15; Pre-orders Beginning Now
Sorry, Nintendo fans. Switch won't get pre-orders, but it will be released at the same time as the other platforms.
Sonic Mania, the throwback title to the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games of old, finally has a release date. Mark August 15 on your calendar and get your running shoes ready.
The game will let players take the role of Sonic, Knuckles or Tails as they pursue Dr. Eggman. It is a throwback to classic Sonic, but with 60 FPS gameplay and improved physics. The game will have new zones, as well as re-envisioned ones from the older games, with new paths and new secrets for players to discover.
Sonic Mania was originally supposed to launch some time this spring, but was delayed. The game will be coming for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch for $19.99. Pre-orders have already begun, except for Switch, which won't go on sale until the game officially launches. A special Collector's Edition, which includes a Sonic statue with audio, is also up now for pre-order for $69.99, but for a limited time.

I was the guy who had a SNES when almost everyone else had a Genesis back in grade school. My best friend and I didn't fight about it though, just marveled at the games available on each others platforms. Turns out we both had great taste too as we've got some rather expensive collections that we picked up back when they were new(ish).

Cool, well you where really the lucky one :) Me and my buddy where like that as well, school was different storey there where fights all the time. I can easily say it now the SNES was better than the Genesis in everyway, sure I will always love the games on my Genesis but I think we all knew it SNES was King.
I went over to my childhood best friends house like almost every other day just to play his SNES and all the amazing games. Even later on in its cycle I still remember the first time I saw Donkey Kong Country run on the SNES, that shit was insane and magical I knew my Genesis could never do that. Heck even MK2 with the blood code on made the gimped shit port of MK2 on the Genesis look like a joke, they even jacked up Jonny Cages shadow moves they where freaking white :( and did not have all the shadow sprites as the SNES and Arcade.
Console wars where stupid looking back now. I would of died for Sega back then even though I thought the SENS was godly, better and I played it all the time at my buddies house.
Good times hey \m/-
There weren't too many big argument about Sega vs SNES back then at my school, but I was die hard sega. Obviously SNES was the better system, but I never knew too many people that had a SNES and my best friend had a Genesis. I think the main issue was that my friend had some particularly good Sega games, and the people with a SNES just had SMW and some crap games so I never got to see anything that really blew Sega out of the water.
