8 awwsDudes, got hit by a car while road biking. Very not excellent.
The guy turned right in front of me, but I was able to take off the majority of my speed before I hit him. I basically just got knocked off my bike at slowish speed and landed on the pavement.
Bad road rash on my elbow and a bruised hip and knee, but fine otherwise.
The real drama was that this mother fucker who hit me tried to run!
He got out of his car to check on me, and when I suggested we call the police to get a report done for insurance purposes, he jumped in his car and drove off. Sadly for him, we were in an area with limited access and one way roads, and I was able to intercept him on the otherwise of a grass median where the road came back around. I basically blocked him in, and when he realized he couldn't leave without literally running me over, he started claiming that he was just looking for parking and that he wasn't running (disregarding the fact that he drove by 20 open parking spots in the process of trying to run).
I wasn't even going to mention his attempt to run when thr police officer arrived, but this piece of shit had the gall to attempt to blame me for the accident. I then told the officer about his attempt to run and the video that a bystander took of the whole thing, and she basically yelled at him for 10 minutes as he attempted to bullshit his way out of feeling guilty.

8 awwsHollywood narratives really mess with your brain - particularly the concept of a 'happy ending'.
My mom passed away today, after a grueling decade of ever worsening dementia. Ended her life with a tube down her throat, utterly confused of her surroundings.
Not the first one I lost, and always, always the end is fucking horrible. The lucky ones just go to sleep and blink out, but so many suffer years and years.
If you're healthy right now, able to enjoy life - this is it, the happy middle. Cherish it, live it, experience it. The end, most likely, will be torture.
See you on the other side mom, I am so sorry you had to experience this. -

Ordered that Apple Watch, got it yesterday and instantly fell in love with it.
Just now was dumping some recycling out and it fell off, totally shattered.
