6 wowsI very nearly filed over the pregnancy of number four. What ultimately happened, about halfway into her pregnancy, I told her that she needed to take out a restraining order on him, or I wouldn't continue with the marriage. This was going to be a 1-2 punch, a united front effort between the two of us. We dropped a thousand bucks on an attorney with a good rep. We wrote out the suit, filed it, waited for it to get served, a hurricane hit town and we had to evac, so it did not get served timely. About 30 days after they expected it to happen, the guy got served. So another 30 days after that, we were to have the court case. Almost to full 90 days after first contacting the attorney. So in court, sitting in front of a microphone, my wife's case was first. She's pregnant, says she's afraid of this guy, once restraining order, you think it would be a slam dunk right? Well she proceeded to lie about the timeline and the facts. I just know, listening to her talk and her voice quivering, that she was lying. Of course she was nervous, but she seemed just as nervous about what I might think, over what he might have said in response. And bear in mind, I already knew a lot of the timeline as it was. Anyway, she told the judge that they met up, had sex, and then he got violent with her and scared her. Told her he would hurt her, hurt the baby, hurt me, or all three. Okay, that checks out. So why did you meet up again the very next night? The case sank. I had already suffered text messages from this dude with the worst pics that you ever want to see of your wife. Has she lost her case, the attorney told me that I might as well drop mine, because if they don't Grant her the order, they wouldn't Grant it to me either. So I dropped it. A grand gone.
And a couple of months later? A baby, that has this dude's eyes. And you know what? She is incredibly smart, funny, and absolutely emotionally attached to her daddy, me. That's right, I am a cuck. -

It’s actually Friday where I’m at, which is currently in the middle of the Tasman Sea on the tail end of a two-week cruise around New Zealand, porting out of Sydney.
It’s been a fantastic trip but without a doubt, visiting Hobbiton was the nerd highlight.
Has anyone else been? Apparently they are building out the interior of Samwise’s hole sometime in the next couple years!

The details are incredible, the surrounding natural terrain is just stunning, and The Green Dragon is a fully functional eatery and pub. Felt like a grown up kid. So much fun.

6 wowsThe emergency heat setting on heatpumps takes A TON of energy, I guess because it's basically a giant toaster oven.
So much so that our energy company sent us a notification of extra high usage for the day it kicked in when we turned the heat up a few degrees.
