The TLDR here... You want to make sure all your devices are using "MSI" (Message Signaled Interupts) mode if the driver supports it. The old line-based IRQ method is basically outdated at this point and prone to high latency and poor interrupt handling in drivers especially if they are sharing IRQ lines between multiple devices.
Download this tool:
http://shadowdane.com/public/files/MSI_util_v2.zip
Open it as an Administrator, you see this Window: https://i.imgur.com/1mMUOnm.png
Check every device and note if the "msi" mode is supported. If it's not enabled, make sure you click the checkbox. You'll also want to make sure your video card & audio device has a "Normal" interrupt priority specified. This will give it the right of way to basically cut in front of the line over other devices that have lower priority or no priority defined.
After you make changes in the tool, reboot. Open the MSI Tool again and you'll notice all your devices should be running in MSI mode now. The IRQ numbers should have negative values if they are running in MSI mode.

10 tagsok, according to winchatty, EarTrumpet is known to the shack, however I just discovered it yesterday
EarTrumpet is a Free Windows10 Volume/Sound Device Control app, that allows you to quickly switch program audio output between devices, as well as hard mute specific programs/system sounds to individual devices.

Although you can do this stuff manually, its no fun because the options are pretty buried. And often stuff will revert back to whatever default sound device you have set. They have streamlined & simplified the whole thing and IMO it works & looks amazing. -
10 tagsSolid long-form article covering QAnon.
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/06/qanon-nothing-can-stop-what-is-coming/610567/
I already knew vaguely what QAnon was, but this provides a lot of detail I didn't have. I also resonated with the pieces near the end of the article that spoke about this not being about conservatives or Republicans as much as people who feel adrift in a society where there's wealth on display but it's largely inaccessible to most people. I definitely see QAnon-style reasoning across the political spectrum, and I agree with the article's conclusion that this is going to long outlast Trump. Whether it's truly the start of a new American religion I'm not sure. -
10 tagsMario Maker 2 thread
ANNOUNCEMENT: I've just uploaded my Mario Maker 2 world! Includes 4 worlds and 13 levels. This includes 10 levels I posted to the shack + 3 NEW levels!!
Why: I'm a big fan of Super Mario 3 and Mario World, where levels start out simple, and build on an idea introduced early in the level.
Nearly all my levels do this. The levels have similar difficulty to Mario World levels, though they aren't all the same difficulty. Someone who enjoys Nintendo designed levels should enjoy these. A few of them has some puzzle-y elements, but most of it is hopefully pretty straightforward from trial-and-error.

A statement from a Christian minister about the Roe V Wade issue:
"The unborn" are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike the incarcerated, addicted, or the chronically poor; they don't resent your condescension or complain that you are not politically correct; unlike widows, they don't ask you to question patriarchy; unlike orphans, they don't need money, education, or childcare; unlike aliens, they don't bring all that racial, cultural, and religious baggage that you dislike; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn...
You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.
Prisoners? Immigrants? The sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn."

10 tagsI share this with the 12th graders I teach sometime during the second semester. One class needed it today.
I think about this speech pretty frequently. Some of you might appreciate it.
