A heads up for ShackBrowse users that v7.1.0 is going up on the store now. This is after a long delay where I had to appeal a Google rejection because they said one could create logins in the app when you cannot.

There are no functionality changes in the app. The only change is a target Android SDK update to SDK 34 which was a Play Store requirement. This can result in breaking changes. I've been using the release candidate for a week on my Pixel 6 with Android 14 and have not noticed any issues. If anyone sees something broken then let me know but TBH I'm going on vacation/camping next week so I will have limited time to fix anything.

Purchased some land today. 1 acre. Nothing massive but big nonetheless. Backs up to trees on 2 of the 4 sides. Across the street from this monster castle. We will build on it 4-5 years.

I do not get on here or post often, but I have a long history with this place that goes all the way back to the beginning during the Quake days.

Every now and then something will remind me about this place and it always puts a smile on my face to know that it’s still here and to jump into the chatty and see all of these names that are STILL HERE it’s super awesome.

This go around I was introducing my 9 year old to BF1942 and the nostalgia wave hit me and brought me back to this video:
