if you play on a notebook you might have to disable vsync because it leads to slow motion/speedup gameplay/out of sync sound (alternatively you might have to disable cpu throttling in bios/energy options)

if you play on a widescreen display, additionally go to the deusex.ini and change

FullscreenViewportX=
FullscreenViewportY=

to your resolution and change the fov in the user.ini

having said all that you of course you can also go this route http://www.kentie.net/article/dxguide/index.htm but i prefer the http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/ as its less crash prone has better and consistent framerate and this might be subjective mouseinput.

I should have read the instructions completely first rather than following step by step, because right after the instructions say 'all done it's time to play!' further down the page it says in bold letters FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T CLICK ON XYZ. I clicked on XYZ lol. So I had to re do it all.

So before I start playing I have 2 questions DarkDeus!

1) What's the safest way to change the resolution? I don't want to do it through the regular launcher, terrified I'll break something

2) Performance isn't great on my ancient rig, is there an easy way to swap to the performance version of Eldergleam?

One serving :

Half cup Quaker quick oats, 1 TBSP chia seeds, half cup protein soy, mix, put in fridge for at least an hour

Take out of fridge

Add 1/3 cup vanilla Greek yogurt, mix

Add a handful of almonds, 1/4 cup granola (sweetened stuff), 2 tbsps of shredded unsweetened coconut, I don't usually but also add any seeds you want like sunflower, pumpkin etc

PSA for anyone who's using Pi-Hole or has changed their DNS servers manually

If you're not using a DNS server that passes ECS data, you may be getting downloads that are slower than you could be since CDNs won't know where you're geo located and can send you to servers that are physically located a long way from you or many network hops away from you instead of the most optimal one.

208.67.222.222 (OpenDNS)
9.9.9.11 (Quad9 ECS)
8.8.8.8 (Google) - Not sure why you'd ever use Google if you're manually changing your servers for privacy reasons, but it is still popular

Popular servers that do not support ECS:
1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare)
9.9.9.9 (Quad9 default)

As mentioned in the Wikipedia article, the ECS extension does send along part of your IP to the CDNs so it's not as good from a privacy perspective as servers that don't support ECS.

Anecdotally, the difference for me is 3-400Mbps downloads from a few different sources (Microsoft in particular) when not using ECS vs 8-900Mbps downloads when using ECS.

Personally, I use OpenDNS only because their servers typically respond over 2x faster than Quad9 for me and on par with Cloudflare (which is what I'd prefer to use, if they supported ECS)
