6 wowsI was commuting back home in a train. I had my jacket hanging at the window right beside my face. I had my wallet in the inner pocket of the jacket. The train was packed.
Then the train stopped at a station and lots of people left. The train was still standing when I heard a rustle at my ear. I checked my jacket and the wallet was GONE!
Although I immediately had a suspicion, I didn't want to cause drama for nothing. So I checked my stuff first and then turned to the guy behind me. He acted innocent but then suddenly ran out of the train!
I checked his seat and found his smartphone!
So I had to make a quick decision as the train was about to leave. I grabbed my stuff and went after him.
He wasn't running (as probably he knew what would happen with police present at the station, although nowhere in sight), so I had a chance to yell at him and wave with his smartphone.
He stopped and I asked again if he took my wallet. He acted innocently and then something strange happened: he allowed me to search his bag, check his pockets and then he even pulled down his trousers!
He even showed me his passport (legit photo) and I wrote down everything.
I couldn't take a photo because in the hurry I forgot it in the train!
He didn't want to go to the police (obviously) so I gave up without clear evidence.
I went to the police and they were very helpful. They called the train operator and after a while they called back that they found my smartphone!
After all the paperworks were done my son picked me up and drove me to another city where I could pick up my phone. I immediately checked all my accounts: no withdrawals!
I locked all my cards. 5 minutes later I get a call that they also found my wallet and that it was on another train back to the city I just left.
I finally got my wallet back - nothing lost except 100 EUR. All cards, passport, driver's license etc back! Yay!
So the thief took out the money and dropped the wallet under a seat when he fled the train. That's why he was so confident when I looked through his stuff.
What the little Frank Ocean didn't think through is that I gave his name to the police and that they have requested CCTV footage from the train! -

6 wowsCrickie, NS Forest fire where I grew up, which my dad is currently fighting.
The fire moved really far REALLY quickly, like even in my area we're being told to make sure our cars are gassed up.
Thankfully winds are shifting direction just now from West to North.

6 wowsI hope they give the Ukrainians the CLU-97 Sensor Fused Munition. It's basically a cluster bomb but each a Munition is its own Explosively Formed Projectile that can track down tanks and vehicles for a top down attack using a stream of molten copper that'll fuck up the crew inside, start fires, and ignite munitions.
The US used one in Iraq in 2003 and it took out 30+ tanks with a single bomb across an Iraqi Armor Brigade formation which caused the rest to retreat or surrender. -
6 wowsFuck, I don't know where we went wrong with our daughter. She is 7 and today she kept saying she wanted to get a knife and kill herself and then she kept trying to get into the kitchen and I had to push her back to stop her. This all started because she opened a bottle of juice in the back of the car and because it was hot it splashed on some artwork she was doing and suddenly that was the end of the world and death was better than having to start again.
We're taking her to the pediatrician next week but I don't know what's going on. She's been having these huge emotions and tantrums every weekend now, ruining our whole weekend and she used to be like the kindest perfect kid.
