Well it happened, my employer of 20 years that tried to sneak out of paying me more is now realizing they are quickly moving into "Find Out" territory. I initiated a "code-freeze" on all of my production tools and apps so I could "transfer my knowlege (lol)" to some offshore Accenture developer. Now stuff is starting to break. In all honesty, he's fine and qualified, but I'm pretty sure English is at least his 3rd language which isn't going to be ideal when hes talking to the sleepy potato from TN. So now they are asking me to stay on until at least the end of the year, so that "year-end distribution isn't impacted." I said sure, I'll do that, for a 100% raise in the mean time, and 6 weeks extra severance after. After some muting and discussion on their side, they replied, "We're not at liberty to approve that, it would just be your current rate and the seperation package is already finalized." "So, it'd be just me coming to work like normal for nothing extra and no incentive? No thanks." The brass balls on these mother fuckers. I swear to god.
