Update, I'm going to get shit on for this but I cleaned it, stepped in his shoes to make sure it wasn't noticeably wet, smelled them and there was no odor, shoe looks even cleaner than before.
Did not tell them.
I was in the other room with my kids when they were leaving, they exited pretty quickly so I didn't have much time anyways, and he didn't say anything.
Wife and I spoke later and she was ok with my choice.
