Peegy update!
Introducing our new adopted guinea piggies, Tony Swiftbottom and Tony Carrotlord!
When we took Dmitri into the vet last Saturday, we thought it was a respiratory issue due to his breathing, which we've dealt with before with other piggies. It turned out it was heart failure, and his body couldn't move fluids around well anymore. There is no cure and his body was shutting down, so we decided to have him put down. It's been a rough year, we've lost three peegs this year.
Chase, his piggy friend, really missed having neighbors. So Monday we adopted these two fellows.
Tony Swiftbottom (1 year, Abyssinian breed) is a curious piggy. He is chatty and will sometimes start squeaking when Chase starts up.
Steve Carrotlord (2 years, American smooth-haired breed) is still quite shy. He hangs back and watches what Tony does. He likes to run full speed from one covered end of the piggy arena to the other, or go through the cloth tunnel slowly. Really likes carrots.
Chase the guinea pig is very happy to have neighbors again. He has his own side of the piggy arena because he gets into piggy fights, but he enjoys company and can chat through the bars and stare at them.
Both have been popcorning around, so they're happy little peegs!
