The people who stormed the U.S. Capitol are getting support from the president of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police lodge. John Catanzara, elected to represent the city’s 12,000 rank-and-file cops, told me last night he understands the frustration. His explanation:

“There was no arson. There was no burning of anything. There was no looting. There was very little destruction of property. It was a bunch of pissed-off people that feel an election was stolen, somehow, some way.”

My moron brother in law was in Tampa the weekend before Thanksgiving and went out to buffalo wild wings and some other shitty sports bar, on two consecutive nights, and spent hours and hours at each drinking and eating. Didn't tell us about it at all.

Come Thanksgiving, my dad decides to drive up from Boca (we're in the St Augustine/Jacksonville area) with his wife and stay at my sister's. My wife (who's 8 months pregnant) and I saw them for about 30 minutes on Thanksgiving, outdoors and distanced, then came home. That same night, my brother in law woke up in the middle of the night with his heart beating over 200 times a second and not able to breathe properly. Got himself a nice ambulance ride to the hospital where they said he had a-fib and the doctors had to do some shit to stop and restart his heart. The dude got to spend 2 nights in the hospital, and also got the whole family infected. They're so fucking lucky that 1. everyone is asymptomatic expect my dad and his wife who only have a cough and mild body aches (my dad has ALL the comorbidities), and he got prescribed azithromicin and some other shit, so I'm sure that's keeping some of it at bay 2. Nobody fucking died (so far) 3. My wife and I didn't catch it (we got tested and are in the clear).

The selfishness and stupidity of some people is astounding. Wife and I were okay until now with seeing them outdoors and distanced at places like the pool, or the backyard, but now we're cutting that off too. Way too fucking risky.
