Hug your pets
After years of battling chronic kidney disease and a host of other conditions, we made the heartbreaking decision to put Harmony to rest early this morning.

Harmony (or "Harmies") loved drinking from her water fountain, and she loved snuggling with her favorite humans and her buddy Kika (who passed away in 2020). She consumed a space in our hearts much larger than her tiny little 9lb body would suggest.

She was 14 years old and will be dearly missed.

Honestly my coworker is the dumbest programmer I’ve ever worked with. We work closely every day and you would think he knows better but apparently he doesn’t. Knocked my coffee over for the second time in a week. Refuses to pair program with me. Doesn’t know basic shit like the design patterns we use in our app. Doesn’t even know HTML and refuses to learn. Asks the same dumb questions every day, usually about when it’s time for lunch. Just the worst.

Ugh, remember when I got light headed and almost fainted and I thought it was too much cake?

Happened several times since, and last night it happened with 0 notice not even a second to prepare, I was just standing still, and immediately it put me right on the floor :( Really scary feeling, freaked my family right out.

Been at the hospital for 18 hours for tests (CT scan etc), they have no idea what's going on, but until they figure it out I'm not allowed to drive at all.

We're also considering cancelling our Mexico trip next week, after had had to cancel our Costa Rica trip in January when we all got covid again.

Blah, I'm just really sad right now.

But some of you were right, it was something more and worth checking out.

Hopefully I get home by tonight :(((

Thank you again to everyone who replied to my thread the other day. It helped a lot for me and I needed that. I’m sad to say my mother in law did pass away this morning. She had her kids with her and she went out on her own terms.

Wow. Got divorce papers last Friday. Today I was laid off.

I picked a hell of a week to stop sniffing glue...

and no not me - worse.. our little high strung asshole barking machine mini Aussie Shep Ace. he attached himself to my wife and couldn't be more than 2 feet from her at any time. he would lose his goddamned mind every time a delivery guy showed up at the door or a jogger went by, or god forbid someone would walk their dog in front of the house. He's the reason we had to hurry up and get a fence around our yard, which caused a battle with the city over permits that they wouldn't allow and ultimately my wife installed her own cobbled together fence system using green posts and rolls of green fencing and then supplemented it with a barrier to shield Ace from the outside. it didn't really work but the fence looks great.

He was supposed to be our kid's dog but almost immediately it was clear that Ace bonded with my wife and wanted nobody else.

He and I had a pretty complicated relationship and I'll leave it at that - but I never wanted his story to end like this.

little fucker. I will miss him terribly when we finally have to do what we need to. Until then, steaks, windmill cookies (his favorite) and car rides every day.

My nephew died yesterday. He was 50 days old. 2022 was horrible, but 2023 is already worse.

Merry Christmas! We made this goofy video today for our far flung kids and grands. Of course, Shackers have always been our favorite kids at heart too. I wish you we could be sharing a Happy Shack toast with you. 🤗
