Sunday pets thread?

From yesterday, this is Ash and she lives here now. She's 5, and her previous owner was older and passed, and I guess the person handling the estate just put her in a shelter.
I wasn't necessarily expecting to adopt quite yet, but she was so instantly friendly and snuggly that I couldn't really argue.

10 awwsProud dad post.
I've mentioned before that my middle daughter started learning piano. A month back we saw a video that teaches a simple version of Silent Night and she learned that pretty quick. I bought the song book it was from and she showed her piano instructor. He showed her that the sheet music also had chords on it and played what it would sound like. This week she decided she wanted to play in the music school's Christmas recital. She's been doing very well in her lessons and has been eager to get to the lessons what would teach her the notes she sees in the song book. Her instructor said she's doing well enough that he's paused the book work and started teaching her the chords so she could play Silent Night out of the book.
I'm sitting here wrapping up my work day while she's practicing. I can't describe how it makes me feel hearing the piano in the living room while she plays. She's only just covered the 3 chords used in the song, and it sounds amazing. I could sit and listen to that all day. She's got a real talent for this. The recital is on the 3rd, so she doesn't have a ton of time to master this. I'm just so proud that she took the initiative on her own to say she wanted to do the recital and has been eager to practice. That makes the investment in the piano and totally rearranging part of the living room so it had a permanent spot totally worth it.
I need to find a way to encourage my oldest with her aptitudes. And, eventually the 6yr old when she starts to show specific interests.

10 awwsThis granny in India used to feed this monkey regularly. Due to old age she became ill and bed-ridden, but got a surprise visit.
