We said goodbye to our dog Tucker this weekend. It was a sad day, but I’m grateful for the time we had. We took her to the dog park one last time, luckily it was the first nice day we’ve had in a while:

A VERY friendly Announcement

As we all know, manwiddabreefcase is pretty chill on most things. So it should be no surprise that, due to the migration of the LOLpage from ThomW Inc™ to ShacknewsLLC, there will be some relaxing of restrictions on LOL rules. Specifically the rule that in order to LOL a post, you "must have actually and audibly laughed" out loud. Whereas, prior to this loosening of restriction, merely smiling or thinking "That's funny" did not entitle one to LOL a post. This should be a welcome change to many of you and provide additional fun discourse during these interesting times.

While I of course oppose this rule relaxation, I understand the reasoning behind it -- we are looking at it now as a guideline rather than a rule, and it does take into account those with certain disabilities and those Shacking during church services who previously have been unable to audibly LOL.

As moderation is a team effort, there was of course lengthy discussion:

hirez weighed in with "in this economy, I'm ok with not being overly hamfisted on lol enforcement"
EvilDolemite weighed in with "ah okay"
manwiddabreefcase weighed in with "Do what now?"
For the mods who could not be reached in time, CrustaR (not a mod) weighed in by proxy with "feek"

Passive-aggressive LOLtagging is still against both spirit and letter of law; that is what the aww tag is for

So, when I was in high school my family decided to get ferrets - first one for my sister (named Tobey) and then a few months later another (Rascal) as a companion. They're a hassle and they didn't live long, but we all have a lot of fond memories of them.

Well my sister just decided she should get two new ones, despite having an 80 pound german Shephard.

Amazingly...the dog is fascinated by them, but surprisingly gentle:

She's been sending me videos of them during my recovery, and they're adorable. I'll put them all together into one big video once I feel better, but I thought some might get a kick out of this little one.
