10 years ago today I hopped on a plane to Berlin as a naive terrified idiot looking for a change. I had the vague hope of staying at least 3 months to see how it worked out. I didn't have a job lined up, I didn't know anyone there, I'd never even set foot in Germany, nor did I have much grasp of the lingo.

Fast forward ten years, i'm married to a German, I've got a baby German, a gang of friends from all over the world, and ten years worth of experiences I'd never thought were in store for me.

I'm not really sure what the point of this post is other than to say yay me, and also to encourage others to take chances that might lead them towards good things. Oh and to thank the shack for always being there when I was struggling to find my way.

I just wanted to say that I'm here at Shacknews, cause I give shit. I'm not here just for the money. Yay i get paid, and that's nice. But I want this site to grow and succeed. Like, I really do care about this site. I've had multiple job offers over the last 3 years, some that paid more, but I believe in the work I do and want this site to thrive. I get to be creative, be part of team that feels personal, and The Man with the Briefcase is probably one of the best bosses I've ever had. He treats us with respect , doesn't micro manage, and shows his appreciation when we go to events by getting us close, really close hotels to the venue, buying us dinner and so forth. I'm not posting this to brag, gloat, or kiss ass. I just wanted everyone here to know that try to Do it Shacknews, cause the site success is important to me and will continue to do so for however long Briefcase Man allows me to.
