13 tagsI released my first album last week. I've been writing songs for the better part of my life, and have recorded in the past, but when I moved into my current home 9 years ago I kinda set a goal to self-produce an album. Honestly, I thought I would have released stuff a long time before now, but I was always second guessing, learning recording/mixing techniques, watching YouTube videos about mixing, spending way too much money on gear and plugins I didn't need, raising kids, being a husband, etc, etc.
Anyways, I wanted to post it here as it's the only community I visit on a daily basis. I really don't know how I would classify the type of music; rock, but what subgenre, I don't know. I would like to get out of my comfort zone and just put it out there. Thanks for checking it out.

13 tags/// DEV DUMP
I don't know if people have mentioned him before, but I keep watching The Coding Train's videos, and while the graphics and stuff look like they'd be at home on a PBS Kids show, the guy does a really neat job demonstrating concepts and codes up all sorts of neat things in short tutorials/demos.
Two I found really neat that I watched over the weekend were ones on raycasting. This probably isn't something you'd need for your job, but it's a really great demo of how the rendering in Wolfenstein 3D works.

13 tagsThe Shout: I’ve recommended this one for years to people who love creepy 70s psychological horror. It’s young John Hurt as an avant-guard sound engineer/composer and his beautiful wife, as they are progressively menaced by a mysterious man who may have learned sounds that can control and kill from an aboriginal tribe. If you love stuff like Altered States and The Serpent and the Rainbow, this is more mysterious and low key.

The 10th Victim: This is one of the most ridiculous, candy colored pop art sci-fi flicks of the 60s. Marcello Mastroianni and Ursula Andress as two assassins hunting each other and falling in love in a future world’s reality TV killing game. Watch if you want to laugh at jaw dropping art direction, over the top Italian philosophical satire and ultra-groovy music that’ll have your toes tapping.
