Season 3: Premiere scheduled as Fall replacement, 2013.
I like the cast for this season. With the new boss character, the new job, multiple neighbors and the landlady coming off an Emmy winning year, this should definitely be the best season of "Dahanese's Place."

37 infsMed update. I'm halfway through treatment, 16 radiation sessions done, 14 to go. Chemo hit me harder than expected, nauseua, runs, inflammation, mouth infections. That was only 4 days of 5FU. This week seems ok. Then 1 more week of chemo and 2 of radiation. Will be tough next 4 or 5 weeks. Looking forward to Christmas!

37 infsThe real failure of this administration (and all of politics, really) is the failure to cultivate a new generation of politicians. They all just cling to power for decades and decades. It's not that they're physically old, it's that their point of view is old. You have all these people who still think you can raise a family on minimum wage, because you could when they were young.
But yeah, I'm gonna vote for him, reluctantly, a second time. I never wanted him, but there's no viable alternative. -
37 infsThank you, shirif. I wish him American McGee all the best. He’s had a heck of a run.
I fondly recall an email he’d sent me more than a quarter of a century ago. I was working at the Pentagon as a junior officer. This website was relatively new and my son Steve had posted my email address suggesting people email his mom to say whether whether this gaming news site blog was worthwhile. Yes, he did.
All of a sudden my email inbox was flooded with crazy shit about llamas and I’m getting freaked. Why llamas 🦙? I did not know Steve had done this. I thought it was maybe a foreign cyber attack. Omg. Panic and fear. What to do?
However. Within the hour, it may have only been minutes … I was relieved to see what appeared to be a nice normal note from a patriotic sounding name, American McGee.
His note led me to figure out Steve was behind the weirdness and so whew! It wasn’t a Middle East coded threat. Omg, Steve. Gotta love him. “Write to my mom.”
As I recall, American said something along the lines of that Steve was doing good things, bringing the gaming community together and that he hoped I would encourage him. He said other nice things too and it was really sweet.
sherif, reading the link you posted with American’s farewell and his kudos to others reads much like the kindness and support he extended about Steve’s work and this community those many years ago.
Although I never had the pleasure of personally meeting American McGee, he’s pretty darn special to me. I appreciate that he chose to create, have fun and be positive for so many many years. Good on him. -

37 infs“We are not penalizing individuals”
It is individuals who are the cause of problems here, not subject matter itself. I get the mods want to make things simpler, but cutting off political discourse is a benighted move.
Let the bullies gtfo. That’s my opinion. -
37 infsFor me the saddest thing about today is that we have spent a year+ losing Americans to a largely preventable disease now and nobody gives a shit. We have had many days where we lost 3,000 or so people even since vaccines have been available and yet I can’t walk into a Home Depot without seeing half a dozen or more unmasked people.
I still have to take off my shoes and buy a $6 bottle of water because 3,000 people died 20 years ago, but nobody blinks that 80 million Americans refuse to protect themselves or the people around them. The CDC and local health departments BEGGED people to not gather for Thanksgiving and Christmas last year and millions of people simply didn’t give a fuck. We lost tens or hundreds of thousands of people because of that, and people didn’t change their ways even 1/10 of what 9/11 did to us.
9/11 lost all meaning for me in December 2020. We have no collective conscience in this country anymore. -
37 infsI was in a meeting this afternoon where we discussed some of the recent breakthrough studies. The TL;DR is that while one study did indicate that Delta viral load in breakthrough cases of vaccinated people was similar to the viral load in unvaccinated people, a follow-up longitudinal study demonstrated that the rate of decay of viral load was higher in vaccinated people than in unvaccinated people. That has obvious implications for both disease severity and transmission - if you are vaccinated you are clearing the virus faster so you'll get through the infection cycle in better shape.
Later tonight I'll try to dig up the studies and link them here but what I'm saying should be pretty intuitive.
