Hey everybody.

Some of you know me, some of you don't. I've been around here forever it feels like. Sometimes more busy/lurking, but sometimes not. I've been really busy these past 14 years at Bethesda making Skyrim and all the Fallouts and stuff.

Anyways, the reason I'm posting is that I left Bethesda today. So you'll probably see me posting a bit more now. :)

Gun culture.

Last night my wife and I found our daughter in her room weeping uncontrollably. School-shooter safety was part of their onboarding experience, in second grade. My little 7 year old girl though now understands that gun culture in america means that she's at risk enough that the school feels the need to drill them on how to respond when a bad guy with a gun shows up, intending to kill kids.

A year ago many of you remember our house was shot up by other americans, deeply immersed in american gun culture. 15+ rounds entered our house, where my wife and babies sleep.

I wonder just how close to home it has to hit for enthusiasts before they take a look at their culture and realize that maybe, just maybe, they at at least part of the problem.

The last thing my daughter said to me before I dropped her off to school was "Daddy do you promise that nobody will come to school and shoot Evander (her brother) and me?". I lied, and I promised her that that couldn't possibly happen.
