My 4yo girl was up all last night throwing up, she looked at me around 4am and said: “daddy… I don’t think I’ll be able to do Christmas tomorrow” :( she got woken up a few minutes ago and it looks like she’s doing a bit better, but that was heartbreaking.

In other news… binge watching bluey on Christmas Eve… can think of worse ways to spend it.

Is there a manual for these things? I got this one brand new but I have no prior experience.

Today at 9.5mo actual / 6.5mo adjusted age he’s 18lbs 3oz which is 8250g or 10x his birth weight of 1lb 13oz / 825g. Doing great he has a wheeze from his damaged lungs but it hasn’t held him back and so far hitting milestones right on time. On play dates all our friends are like wow he looks totally normal!

All the stories / SM’s / advice along the way much appreciated . Nice to get check ins from folks who’ve been through it along the way. Especially in those first moments it was pretty dark times and words helped a lot.

Also today got the word that my insurance will cover $1.5m of the $1.8m hospital bill. They only cover 80% in the US unless it’s an emergency; amazing being born into the ICU on a ventilator isn’t considered an emergency. Still hoping if I push enough paperwork through the system Medi-Cal will cover the remainder as he was born disabled (<1kg birth weight is automatic disabled) and is supposed to be covered.

I wish! Sadly for me, I haven’t seen him in about 3 years but I hope that’s gonna be rectified. I miss him a lot.
