A fire fighter at my station (different shift) was shot and killed yesterday.

He was off duty at a sketchy gas station and tried to stick up for the clerk, whom was being harassed by a pair of customers. The customers waited for him just outside the store, they got into a fist fight, and one of them pulled a gun and shot him in the chest. Middle of the day, 2:30pm.

I’d almost say unbelievable, but this is the world we have accepted to live in.

The judge in Kyle Rittenhouse's trial says lawyers cannot call the 2 people he killed "victims."

Rittenhouse killed 2 people and wounded another with an AR-15 style weapon. The judge says "victim" is too "loaded" but will let lawyers call them "rioters, looters or arsonists."

My wife's mom asked her to water her tomatoe plants twice a day while they are on vacation.

My wife asked if only once a day would be ok and my wife's mom got silent.

Next day she emails my wife and says 'don't worry about the tomatoe plants, they are taken care of'

My wife goes over to water them and they are all torn up and cut up.

We're heading up to join them on vacatuon this weekend, looking forward to it!

The province I live in, Alberta, is abandoning all Covid restrictions.

Aug. 16 will completely lift restrictive measures. There will be no more provincial masking order and no requirement for masks in school.

People diagnosed with COVID-19 will no longer be required to isolate. Not at all, for any period.

This means that infected adults will be able to interact with friends and family, go to restaurants and bars, or attend large public events

After Aug. 16, there will be no more isolation hotels or quarantine support. Testing centres will shut down, shifting the duties to doctors’ offices and primary care networks — or hospitals.

This seems…absolutely insane?
