I've been using the internet since BBSs and I pronounce it hard G. Graphics Interchange Format, not Jraphics Interchange Format.

    Hey Shacknews!

My book, How to Lose a Best Friend releases today! It’s a YA romantic dramedy, so not Shacknews’s usual vibe, but I’m real proud of it and I think it’s pretty good and if you know someone who eats that kind of stuff up, maybe send it their way!

It obviously started off meeting here, on the Shack. He slid into my DMs and we started messaging each other quite frequently. It morphed into this odd friendship and then one drunken night, the messages started becoming flirty. Thus started our flirtatious escapade, and being a single, hopeless romantic at heart, I started noticing that I was developing feelings for him. We started spending hours, just talking to each other. It was at this point we decided to meet in person, so I flew to Melbourne, Australia to meet him in person for the very first time in 2015. Funny little side note: My little sister wanted to make sure he wasn't going to murder me so she made me share his email so he can send her his ID, work details, etc in case she needed to track his ass down lol.

I spent four lovely weeks getting to know abrasion. By this time, my feelings for him were pretty deep and I had fallen hard. Although he didn't feel the same way initially, his icy heart eventually melted and so began our love. I learned about his odd quirks, of which has has many! But he also showed me how kind and thoughtful he could be. It was hard to leave, knowing I may never see him again. Understandably, he didn't want to pursue a long-distance relationship or any relationship at that point, but I didn't give up. My persistence paid off, because eventually, we decided that I should move to Australia to be with him.

In May of 2017, I packed my bags, said goodbye to my robotics job, left my kitty, my family, and friends, and hopped on a plane to move to Melbourne to be with abrasion. Once we were together again, I felt complete and whole. I think at that point, I knew that this was my person, my forever. We had fun every day, going out, exploring, and experiencing different foods - just the most sickening honeymoon phase.

It’s very revealing that almost all of the attention has been on the Democrats that didn’t save McCarthy, rather than the 8 Republicans that voted against him. It’s so indicative of the low standard Republicans are held to. “Of course Republicans are going to behave poorly! What’s really shameful is that Democrats didn’t act to prevent this!”

Democrats didn’t prompt the vote, they didn’t vote McCarthy into this position to begin with, and they had nothing to do with the deal McCarthy made with his own caucus that his speakership could be challenged by a single Rep at any time. And yet, it’s all their fault!

If you're mad about the speech, he was talking about you.
