We moved into a house a few weeks ago and the peegs are living it up in the living room. They are right next to the kitchen and Chase, the spokespeeg, will wheek when the fridge is being opened. Tony was very curious when the movers were bringing things in and one of the movers said it was a pleasure to meet him. Steve is often called "Bad Steve" because he is a nut and constantly tries to tear down the walls of his arena (he has more than enough space, he wants to battle the other peegs.)

14 awwsMy mom passed away this morning.
After a year of fighting and 4 months of hospice, she's finally at rest.
I have been coming home from Illinois to Florida about every six weeks or so. I came down two weeks ago for Mother's Day and It was clear she was declining. They had her on really high dosages of Fentanyl for her pain, but in past visits she was usually at least coherent from time to time. When i came down the last time, she was only semi-lucid for a day, the rest of the time she slept.
Dad called Thursday to let me know that neither the hospice people or he had been able to get her to eat or drink the past few days. I talked to him Friday morning after he had a talk with the hospice nurse and she told him mom was shutting down. I got in Friday evening and was able to spend some time with her.
Early this morning, my dad had to run an errand and he checked on her. She was sleeping. I went out 45 minutes later to sit with her and noticed her lips were blue. I checked for a pulse and couldn't find one in her neck or feet. She was still warm, but her feet and hands were cold. The hospice tech who stayed with her during the day arrived about 20 minutes later and she confirmed it.
I am glad I was able to be here and I am glad I got to tell her I loved her last night before I went to bed.
Cancer sucks and I can't believe we're still dying because of this shit. Hug your family. -

As we lost Peppers Popcornpants less than a week ago, Chase and Dmitri stepped it up in this photoshoot. Chase is not in his usual snuggle sack and only ran off the set twice.

14 awwsI adopted a new cat recently. My kids named him Truman so I have dubbed him Truman Catpote. He is gorgeous and I wanted to share him with you all. It took him a few weeks to settle in but he’s becoming quite a wonderful cat so far.
