43 infsSo Satoru Iwata was the shit. I've gotten to shoot for pretty much every major corporation out there, game companies included. I've had the opportunity to work directly with Nintendo several times and have a really hard time thinking of anyone with more integrity than he did.
More than anything, he respected the customer. He didn't engage in predatory DLC practices with games like Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, even though he could have easily nickled and dimed with map packs and season passes. Instead of laying off a bunch of people when Nintendo was losing money, he cut his pay in half. When talking about free-to-play earlier this year he called it out for what it actually is, "free to start".
Before he was CEO he was a badass programmer. He was known as the best programmer on the NES, squeezing games down to sizes that were thought to be impossible and debugging in record time. His last duty as a programmer (while he was CEO!) was doing last minute code review and debug on Super Smash Bros Melee because otherwise it wouldn't have shipped on time. What a badass!
Here is his excellent GDC keynote, "Heart Of A Gamer": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9HUMt2rrOI&index=1&list=PL38B2AD26CFE4C796
Here is Iwata Asks, his fucking excellent series where he talks about game design with Miyamoto, Tezuka, Aonuma, etc: http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/

This video shows some good VFX before/afters in motion, pairing the raw footage with the final shot. It also shows the guitar bungee being shot in camera, and the steering wheel coming at the camera being shot as stop-motion.

This video illustrates the center-framing cinematography in the action sequences, and has narration from the cinematographer John Seale who walks you through the decisions they made.

43 infsI think it's firmly established in the second panel on page 14 of Incredible X-Men #37 that appendages on Mystique's body grow from the inside out, rather than spontaneously materializing. Clearly, his blue monster dong would be pushed out by the admittedly extremely rapid growth, so while it may be quite painful and alarming to suddenly find himself touching dicks with Commander McHale, he should be in good shape anatomically.

42 infsModeration Update
We have published some new guidelines over on this Internet Hyperlink > https://www.shacknews.com/guidelines
Nobody reads them anyways so the only guideline is to be a positive community member. Pretty simple. However we like to include some examples of how NOT to be a fine upstanding member of this community.
New to this update is that we ban for Misinformation now. This was a problem during COVID and it continues to be a problem with other medical topics. The guideline says this specifically so it's not limited to medical misinformation and is written to be broadly applied at moderator discretion.
"Intentionally or through willful or feigned ignorance, propagating misinformation that could result in harm to community members"
We have also cleaned up the list of active mods and added our new friends. Thanks to everyone for keeping this place one of the best communities around!
