I will not rescind it, in the real world being a hero has consequences. Your wife's cousin died for nothing, and that's a tragedy, but this drunk driver was probably not the heinous villain that the law will treat him as. I am in no way approving or supporting his obviously abhorrent behavior, I'm just saying it's unlikely that he's a terrible person, and unless he's well-connected or wealthy, he is going to suffer and maybe his family will suffer quite a bit for the crime of knowingly making himself more likely to hurt himself or other people. He didn't actually hurt anyone.

So, my workplace (a hospital) is having an active shooter drill next week. They don't plan to announce it to the public (who would be in the building) until the day of. The company performing the drill will be using real guns with blanks. I think this is absolutely stupid and pointless, not to mention dangerous with the amount of people that conceal carry here. I am thinking about just taking that day off, I really don't agree with doing those types of drills and I don't want any part of it.
